Billing & Rebates

You are expected to pay for each consultation on the day, unless there is an alternative agreement, or you have another arrangement such as insurance coverage.

There are rebates available for both Psychiatric and Clinical Psychology services.

To claim rebates under Medicare, you will first need a referral from a medical practitioner (e.g. your GP). Health rebates might also apply. Our secretary will assist you through the process of deciding if you qualify for a rebate.

For more information on Medicare rebates for mental health services provided by psychologists, click here .

For rebates under psychiatric care, click here.

Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Both Oleh and Marjorie are registered to provide treatment for DVA patients. DVA will cover the cost of treatment for accepted disabilities when accompanied a referral from your General Practitioner. It is easier to manage your treatment if the referral is made on an indefinite basis.

For people referred under Workers Compensation or Motor Vehicle Accident insurance, we will directly bill the insurer. If the insurer does not accept liability for the claim, you are responsible for meeting your account. Please note that insurance companies will not cover fees for short notice cancellations or missed appointments.

Referrals

It is not necessary to have a referral to make an appointment with one of our Clinical Psychologists. You can see one of us on a private basis by simply calling to make an appointment. If you choose this route, you may be eligible for private health rebates (e.g. HBF, Bupa), provided you have cover with your health insurer. Private health rebates vary between health insurers and depend on the level of cover you have arranged.

You will need a referral from your General Practitioner or Specialist to see our Psychiatrist/s. Please be aware that Oleh is in high demand, and so he can only take new referrals as space becomes available.

Missed or Cancelled Appointments

Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry Appointments

Attending each scheduled session is important for continuity of therapy. We ask that you give notice of cancellation. At least 48 hours is required for cancellation of a therapy appointment, otherwise a charge may apply. Missed appointments will incur a charge at the standard rate.

Neuropsychological Assessment Appointments

Cancellation of a neuropsychology assessment appointment must be advised at least two weeks in advance, or a charge will be applied.
